Coffee Book Tag

I was tagged by my lovely friend and fellow book tag lover Charley @ The Bibliomaniac, and as a fairly new lover of coffee (I’ve always preferred tea up until recently) I can’t wait to get stuck into this one!

BLACK COFFEE – A series that’s tough to get into but has hardcore fans.

I’d probably have to say anything by Sarah J. Maas for this one! I see her books all over Instagram and Twitter but I don’t think I would be able to get into them as well as I would hope.

Not usually a genre that I read either, but never say never, and who knows, I might be the next hardcore fan!

DECAF – A book you were expecting more from.

I hate to say it but My Dark Vanessa. Now don’t get me wrong, I did think it was an excellent book but the first half for me was miles better than the second and the ending left me unsure of how I felt.

I guess that was intended by the author but having read other books that discuss similar topics, I found myself a little disappointed that it didn’t live up to the hype for me.

PEPPERMINT MOCHA – A book that gets more popular during the winter season.

I would have to say Wuthering Heights for this one! There’s nothing more wintery that the blustery hills of the Yorkshire Moores, and I just love curling up with Wuthering Heights, a hot drink and some chocolately treats!

HOT CHOCOLATE – Your favourite middle-grade book?

My favourite middle-grade book would have to be The Butterfly Lion by Michael Morpurgo.

I read this book in high school and I fell completely in love. I remember i read it cover-to-cover over and over again. I became obsessed!

As much as I loved the book, I do remember it making me cry, as there are some heartbreaking events in the story but still one of the most memorable books during middle-grade.

DOUBLE ESPRESSO – A book that kept you on the edge of your seat.

This would have to be I See You by Clare Mackintosh. I could NOT put that book down and read most of it in one sitting.

I loved trying to guess who was behind the horrible articles and I loved how everything unfolded at the end! If you’ve read the book, you’ll know what I mean when I say THAT ENDING THOUGH!!!

STARBUCKS – A book you see everywhere.

A book I see everywhere has to be Queenie by Candice Carty-Williams. Thankfully I read this book at the beginning of the year, but since then it features in at least 30% of all posts I see on Instagram.

Its a GREAT book and deserves all the recognition it gets, and it seems that every Bookstagrammer seems to be reading/posting about it at the minute!

THAT HIPSTER COFFEE SHOP – Give a book by an Indie author a shoutout.

I don’t know many Indie authors if I’m honest but recently, Effie Moss, founder of The Kindness Company, sent me her new book all about her journey to developing and sustaining a business which I can’t wait to read!

Be sure to check out my review once it’s up on my blog!

And there we have it, the coffee book tag is complete! I hope you had fun reading my answers, and be sure to get involved too if you fancy it! But for now, I am in serious need of a coffee!
